Improve train refunds

Rehman has launched a petition calling for Southeastern Trains to introduce fairer refunds.

He wants Southeastern to follow the example set by another franchise to automatically refund commuters whenever their journey is delayed by a few minutes.

Under plans unveiled by the c2c franchise, delayed commuters in Essex are to automatically receive a refund if their journey is delayed by two minutes.

Currently, Southeastern offers the delay repay scheme for journeys delayed by more than 30 minutes.

Rehman has raised the matter in Parliament with the Transport Secretary. He asked Patrick McLoughlin MP to encourage other franchises, including Southeastern, to take up the scheme.
