About Rehman
Rehman, has lived in Gillingham, and Rainham for most of his life, having attended Richmond Infant School, Napier Primary School, Fort Luton High School for boys and Sixth forms at Rainham Mark Grammar School, and Chatham Grammar School for Girls (Mixed Sixth form). Rehman was a School Governor at Richmond Infant School, and for the past seven years he has sat on the governing body of Chatham Grammar School for Girls.
After completing a Law degree at the University of Wales Aberystwyth, he was called to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincolns Inn, in 2001, and for the past 7 years has worked in London as a Barrister.
An enthusiastic sportsman, he captained Hempstead youth cricket team, within the constituency, which led him to represent Medway and Kent Schools at cricket. He is a keen runner, having run, Reading, Isle of Wight, Maidstone, and Jersey Half marathons for local charities, and St Margaret’s Church Rainham.

Councillor for Rainham Central Medway Council. Elected to serve in May 2007. ( If elected to Parliament will continue to serve as councillor for residents of Rainham Central, BUT will not claim any allowances, as I would already be representing the residents.
Voluntary responsibility: President of local football club Holland and Blair Gillingham, (Will continue with this responsibility at any rate for an initial period).

As Barrister, carried out work for the Crown Prosecution Service, prosecuted cases at the Crown Court, and acted for a number of law firms as defence counsel. Also presented cases in Civil and Family Law.
(Have already discontinued this practice).
While practising as a Barrister, I acted as standing Legal Counsel (advising on legal matters) to the High Commission of Pakistan London (36 Lowndes Square London SW1X 9JN): (September 2008- October 2009).

I support the next Conservative Governments requirement that anyone who sits in either house will be required by law to be a full UK tax payer.

CAMPAIGNS
Since being selected as Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Gillingham and Rainham, Rehman, has actively campaigned on the following issues:
- Opposed the Governments plans to build over 9000 homes on Capstone Valley
- Launched a campaign opposing the Governments proposals to Close, Station Road Post Office In Rainham, and the Byron Road post office within the constituency
- Campaigned for more police officers, for the streets of Gillingham and Rainham, and less bureaucracy within the police force
- Campaigned for more doctors and nurses, at the Medway Maritime Hospital, and less bureaucracy within the Health Service
- Campaigned against the rise in train fares, so that more residents within the constituency can, use public transport, and help protect our environment.
