Rehman gave interviews to BBC South East, Meridian ITV and BBC Radio Kent on Medway Hospital following his meeting with the Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt MP.
Following his meeting with the Health Secretary yesterday (25 November 2014) in Parliament, to look at improving health care services at Medway, Jeremy Hunt assured Rehman that the Government would do everything to turn the hospital around and improve the services.
Since the Hospital was placed in Special Measures, the Hospital has seen an increase in the number of frontline staff as well as having been given over £5 million to support Accident and Emergency services to increase capacity.
Rehman commented:
"The challenges at Medway Hospital are significant and date back to 2006, when it had the seventh highest mortality rate in the country.
"I pay tribute to the excellent front line staff for their hard work and it was a pleasure to meet with some of them on my recent visit to the Hospital where I spent the afternoon visiting various wards."
