Rehman has called for greater collaboration between Medway Hospital and other Health Trusts at a meeting with the Health Secretary.
Mr Chishti held talks last week with Jeremy Hunt MP, looking at the progress being made to bring Medway Hospital out of Special Measures.
He thanked him for the Government’s recently announced investment of £13.4m to improve Medway’s A&E, which is one of the largest amount given to a hospital, and asked the Secretary of State to pay another visit to the Trust.
Rehman also asked for Medway Hospital to have greater support from other Trusts. Medway has been working closely with University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust in a partnership project.
Rehman said: "I held a constructive meeting with the Health Secretary to ensure the hospital continues to receive the maximum support from the Government to improve its services.
"I hope that the Secretary of State will be able to visit Medway Hospital again and I would also like to see greater collaboration between Trusts, which can provide a fantastic opportunity to benefit from another hospital’s expertise."
The Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt MP said: "Rehman has been a great champion for improvements at Medway, and I continue to work closely with him to ensure that everything that can be done is being done to bring Medway Hospital out of Special Measures."
