Rehman wrote a joint article with Knox Thames, who served as the US special advisor on religious minorities at the State Department during the Obama and Trump administrations, in Atlantic Council, calling on the UK and US to recognise the crimes committed in Myanmar as genocide.
Rehman previously worked with Knox Thames when Rehman served as the UK Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief from September 2019 - September 2020.
