Kent students were in court on Saturday (11 May 2013) for the semi-finals of the Mock Trial Competition.
Pupils took on the role of lawyers, witnesses, magistrates and court staff at Medway Magistrates Court to compete for a place in the national final.
The competition is designed to give young people an insight into the criminal justice system and was organised locally by the Chairman John Weir.
Rehman attended to present prizes to the winning team from the Judd School, Tonbridge.
Commenting afterwards Rehman said:
"Congratulations to the Judd School for winning the regional heat. There was a very high calibre of talent on show at the competition and many of the students showed real potential for a future career in law. This competition is an excellent way to introduce students to the legal system."
