Rehman was glad to welcome Marc Elliot to parliament. Marc is the Royal Engineers Corps Sergeant Major based at Medway. Rehman thanked him for his outstanding service and excellent engagement with local stakeholders as he completes his term in post here in Medway.
On the 75th anniversary of our beloved NHS, Rehman was glad to welcome staff from Medway Hospital to Parliament. After receiving a nomination from Rehman, the group were selected to attend the NHS Parliamentary Awards Ceremony 2023, followed by a tour of parliament.
Rehman was glad to visit Oasis Academy Gillingham and take the school assembly as well as a tour of the school. Rehman thanked the school for a wonderful visit and looks forward to receiving ideas for improving the local area and welcoming the school to parliament in the future.
Rehman had a positive call with the excellent medical cancer care team at Medway Hospital, to hear about their proposals for the cancer Prehabilitation service in Medway, which Rehman fully supports.
Rehman was honoured to attend Medway Armed Forces Day. We are privileged to have our Armed Forces who protect and defend our freedom, representing the very best of our country. We are grateful to all defence personnel and their families.
Rehman was delighted to welcome students from Mid Kent College for a tour of parliament and a Q&A. The students had some terrific questions, Rehman was also thrilled to catch up with their brilliant principal, Simon Cook.
Rehman met with Chief Inspector Jenner, the Medway commander. Where they discussed the latest community safety matters, in light of recent incidents. Police in Gillingham are increasing patrolling under a new model, which also features dedicated officers for each ward.
Rehman enjoyed meeting members of the local community to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. Rehman joined residents in Gillingham and Rainham, for the Coronation Big Lunch, a great example of the wonderful community spirit in our local area.
Rehman had great pleasure in welcoming members of the local Muslim Community Mosque in Gillingham to Parliament KMWA. The Mosque where Rehman's father served as Imam, and in 1987 welcomed Imam of Mecca Ṣāliḥ ibn ʻAbd Allāh Ibn Ḥumayd to Gillingham Mosque.
